Thematic Images
The main event: David’s pictures presented thematically.
"More than ever before, artists (be it writers, painters or photographers) need to work thematically in order to stand out from the crowd. It's what separates pros from hobbyists. Everyone and their brother has a high-end digital camera (or so it seems) and with the rise and rise of platforms like Facebook and Twitter (plus, more image libraries than you can shake a stick at!), image-makers have to find a way to keep their heads above the deluge of mediocrity."
"For me, the only way to do this is to work thematically: to create images that tell a story as a body of work, not merely searching for one glorious picture. These themes can be grand, universal subjects that go on and on (such as "Night Visions"), or more personal (such as "Vietnoir"). They can be commercially orientated like "CityIcons" or creatively challenging, like "Conflexions."
